2016 is a 9 Universal Year. The energy we will be mingling with is filled with compassion, forgiveness, conclusion, completion and transformation. It is the time to let go of anything and everything that no longer serves.
No matter what Personal Year we are each in we will either be moving with or against this 9 energy, everything is always moving and has a positive and negative charge just like a battery.
To get your year off to the best possible start when the festive decorations come down, clear out broken bulbs or lights, baubles, decorations or unwanted tinsel. Put order into your storage making it easy for next Christmas or the move that may well take place in between, especially if you are in a 5, 6 or 9 Personal Year.
Next clear and clean your house, box up and dispatch unwanted items for the right friends or family, charity, boot sale or eBay and discard the rubbish and unusable to the bin or local tip.
Many of us would often wait till March or April for the Spring clean but I would suggest in a 9 year do it with swift effect; the sooner we release what no longer serves us, the better placed we are to move forward and be open for what’s coming. Are you aware that clutter holds energy and that the unsightly vase you hide away because your late aunt bought it may well be a part of what is holding you back. Only keep what you truly see as beautiful or practical and used on a regular basis. One day we will have our own final number 9 and when we leave this earth, the only thing we will be taking is our soul and our experiences; don’t leave it for someone else to clear.
Next step is to de-clutter and de-congest your body of non nutritional foods that this festive season has brought upon us. Now I personally would not rush this part, being someone who dislikes waste would mean eating all those sweets ASAP and as I feel full of cold or flu and no one around to pamper me the tiny pieces of chocolate feel really good right now even though I am aware that a moment on the lips can be an eternity on the hips. Another reason I would not rush into this is the ‘Cold Turkey’ phase – can you image the withdrawal symptoms and the rush of facial spots as we detox, ARGH!
No slow and gentle, this way we will be weaned until next Christmas.
So while you are enjoying the last of the goodies; perhaps sit down and look at your relationships and your career. Is it time to let anything go? FIRST, a word of warning, this may not be easy and I can tell you your emotions will take a pounding but if you don’t look to let go amicably it may be done for you with less care. Have a think about your Christmas card list, are you still really connected to all of those receivers of your cards. Don’t waste energy, let go. It is the only way new friendships can come in besides we are changing, especially those of us that are awakening and not all of us are. You may notice that some people frown upon your new direction, can’t understand why you have been changing although I like to use the words evolving or modifying as change gives a perception that something was wrong when at the time it was not. So have a deep moment or several in your mind connecting to each and everyone that is in your life – Do they raise you up… OR are they holding you back?
And as for your job, does it energise you? Do you love it? Does it make you feel happy? Do you jump out of bed each morning looking forward to the day ahead or wishing it was once again the weekend? To really move forward when we do what we love, we love what we do and then work does not feel like work; it all becomes fun and play.
Take some further time to connect with your current job and see how it makes you feel. It may well be the right job but perhaps the wrong position. Is there a chance of promotion, some job training or a relocation? If money and commitment were no issue, what would you love to do each day and get paid for it?
Oh and don’t forget to cancel all those subscriptions you have not really been using.
Know that endings create new beginnings.
With all that said and done, before I get on with my new year I have taken this time out to let go of the mundane, the cooking, the chores, the clearing of the festive decorations or work and I have been playing like a child.
I love jigsaw puzzles and colouring books.
Adults forget to play and yet play is the biggest stimulation for solution solving and clarity as it clears the mind of chatter and the repetitive self defeating videos.
Play also allows us to relax and de-stress which is excellent therapy after a busy day, week or holiday.
Play is also a form of meditation, so if you have not got meditation sorted yet, may I suggest a puzzle or something creative, something outside your normal world.
As a child I would love un-wrapping a colouring book, new pencils or pens and a soft fluffy pencil case each Christmas. I would sit for hours creating colourful scenes in my books. The odd dot to dot was also fun; having the picture form through my pencil was like magic.
Colouring books and jigsaws disappeared once I started work and they remained lost until my children came along; no one was happier than I to see them back in my life. They would scribble through them and then I would colour over them and make them beautiful again. My daughter shared today that she never really enjoyed the colouring books and yet she has turned out to be a very talented artist, (So proud of her) but the jigsaws have helped her set out her work as a graphic designer.
As we coloured or jigsaw’d, I would say to the children ‘become good at jigsaws and you will never be beat by a ‘flat pack’ piece of furniture’ and ‘when you colour you get lost in the beauty and form of how things are created, allowing you to see beauty you do not initially see.
I pride myself in my ability to craft a flat pack and DIY any room. I have an eye for colour and at one point in my life I did interior design and decorating for a living. I also created every item of clothing I ever wore prior to maternity and motherhood. But like the 9 energy I let it all go, cleared it out for new much bigger creativity with my transformational coaching.
What are you ready to clear out?
How will it improve your life?
With the puzzle completed for this time, my black and white page turned to colour and the fox found hidden in the dots, it is probably time to clear the Christmas decorations and bring a close to one of my favourite times of the year.
On that note may I wish you all an incredible 2016 and watch out for your Personal Year energy to follow throughout January. Until then remember as Queen Elsa sings in Frozen this year – it is time to ‘LET IT GO’.
