What’s In A Name – It is More Thank A Label

Whats in a name

The Importance of Names

What’s in a name – Mmmm… Now there’s a thought to ponder…

– Did we choose our name? or did our name choose us?

Have you ever wondered about your name; why your parents chose it; what it really means and why we feel the way we do about it?

I am here to tell you, your name is no error even if it contains a mistake; has been misspelled, is not your gender, after a football team, reversed or written in a handwriting you had to guess at, this is the name you chose to have before coming here to earth.

Now that may be a little hard to acknowledge depending on your belief system; so if you found my last statement difficult to accept and still believe or blame your parents for your name I will add the following – whether your parents knew your name their whole life or it took them 10 seconds to decide, this name IS 100% meant to be your name.

Names are labels, a way we identify ourselves. Throughout time the giving of names has become significant in how we are recognised.

Examples stem from belonging to our father in names like Hud’s son or John’s son
Or our mother’s with names like Molson (from Moll, shortened version of Mary), Madison (from Maud) or Emmott (from Emma)
A name may have been associated with one’s job, Tailor or Miller.
Some names were taken from the location they came from, River, Creek or Hill.
While others may have come from a characteristic, Long, Tall or Little for the body type or Green, Black or Blue from the eyes.
If you worked for the kingdom, you may have been called Knight, Earl or King
Others were named after objects including plants such as Rose, Heather, or Moss.
And if your name ends with ‘El’ a name for God this signified power; an interesting example of an ‘el’ would be Lionel (Lion God).
With regards to a name like Peacock, they may have developed from vanity.

With Numerology and the placement of the name we can learn so much about our self.

First name describes our physical self, how we live, work and play.
Middle name highlights our emotional self, how we feel and react in relationships
Last name is hereditary, gifted down through the generation and radiates the spiritual self.

When a woman marries and takes the husband’s surname she moves into the energy of the new family.

From the letters of the whole name, the first 3 pieces of information we look for is the person’s Expression, passion (Heart’s desire) and their Personality (how people initially see them). Every letter has a vibration as follows:

Every letter has a value

We Become What We Believe

Our Beliefs can Empower and Dis-empower Us
Our Beliefs can Empower and Dis-empower Us

What Are Beliefs

A belief is an assumed truth or conviction that we have created or been given that anchors us to our world. They are always in motion, constantly influencing our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.

I have chosen to talk about beliefs today as I have been doing Oprah and Deepak 21-Day Meditation Experience, Become What You Believe! It has been an incredible 21 days of growth and understanding. The more aware I become of who I am, how I feel and what leads me to do what I do the brighter and abundant my world appears.

On top of the meditations I looked to the numbers to understand further the power of ‘Beliefs’, you may find this helpful in understanding the power of a belief and how it drives you. Some beliefs can and do change as we grow and evolve, while others remain with us our whole life.

During the first week we learned how power our beliefs are, they can drive us to greatness when they are strong and smart however when we are vibrating at a lower frequency our beliefs becoming limiting; we are not smart enough, liked enough or worthy they are still powerful but in a self sabotaging way. In the second week we discovered our underlying core beliefs of love, self-worth, feeling secure, and feeling whole. The third and final week leads us through self awareness, the more positive and empowering our beliefs the more we understand and accept our ‘faith’. To conclude the series I share a clip from the ‘Message of the day’ – We have been looking at belief as a way to reach our inner reality. As we step into the light of our true self, we realise that pure awareness is a state of true knowledge. It is not a belief; it is a knowing. Our true self is not a particular kind of knowledge; it is “knowingness” itself. This state is the gift of living from your core beliefs. This is the fulfilment of becoming what you believe.

Beliefs and Numerology No. 4

Beliefs are the bedrock of existence and the foundation of actions, motivation and intentions. They allow us to organise and manage our approach to life. Consciously or unconsciously beliefs allow us to build and do turning our dreams into reality.

They create a structure that we build from, a place we start from and a destination we aim for.
Whether the beliefs are ours or that of our family we take these them seriously, keeping us reliable and responsible, however they can keep us too narrowly focused.

Beliefs are held strongly, they create a trust in what you know pushing away the unconventional, preferring instead the tried-and-the-true. They can also slow you down, cause frustration as they can feel like limitations. Limitations, like everything always have pro’s and con’s, while they can be restricting, they also teach you caution, due-diligence and mindfulness causing you not to cut corners. Beliefs allow you to come to an understanding that restrictions are guiding forces to test and direct you toward your goals.

Beliefs are so real to us that we feel them to be our truth; they can make us moralistic and somewhat rigid and stubborn. One becomes loyal to their beliefs and it is through loyalty of people that creates trust for you to open up to new beliefs so surround yourself by inspiration people.

Sometime beliefs can keep us in the dark, focus on a knowing that life is meant to be fun and you would do better to lighten up. Check in whether the beliefs have served their time and is it time to let them go…

Use your beliefs wisely, check in to see if they are self sabotaging or empowering you. Empowering beliefs will bring you towards your goal and success.

A check-list for your beliefs;

Are they allowing you to manage, organise or lead?
Are they helping you get your life in order?
Are they creating a good strong solid foundation for your future?

These are 4 energy questions.

The strengths of the 4 energy are disciplined, persistent, focused, organised and stable
The weaknesses are narrow-minded, emotionally closed, inflexible, judgemental and stubborn.

The weakness create the limiting beliefs of I am not worthy. Know that if you are thinking this, it is a belief that is restricting and suffocating you. The opposite belief would be I am worthy. What could you do to turn such a belief around? How will you feel when you accept you are worthy?
